Default widest rim and tire to fit on 2000 trans am?

I want to get new rims and tires soon...but i really want the car to be wide in the back

I was thinking of getting 18 8.5's and 19 10's
But now I really want 19 10's and 20 12's

Is that 12 inch rim going to be too wide for the back...and will the 10 be too much up front and is the tire going to rub

Please don't tell me that it will look stupid though...I just want an answer because i couldnt find it on this site or google

Thanks in advance you guys

You can probably fit a 12 inch rim on the back with a 315, but a 315 will also fit on a 11 inch rim as well.

I have seen 325s fit with a BFH mod but i know 315s will fit for sure its what I run on my car.

I have seen 11 inch rims run on the front but only for auto cross aplications.

As long as you can get the proper backspacing and offset you should have no isses getting them to fit

You might have issues with tramling with the fronts 10" wide, but you can definitely make them fit. Several ppl run 17x11 (315 tire) on front and rear with BFH mod. That being said, the only time I recall seeing a 12" rear with 325 is with a minitub (I believe) otherwise it will take some serious BFH mod to get it to fit.

Yep, I run 17x11 w/ 315 in the rear, unless you BFH, cut or chop, or other method not sure if 12" will work, read the tire sticky, your not the first person who wanted 12" rims, trust me.

Really bad pic of the width.., and ignore the mis-matched tires.. haha. but I'm running 19x10's in the rear (stock C6 rims) with a 1 1/4" spacer. No rubbing and they look plenty wide!

Yeah wide looks cool, just remember... the wider you go, the more power mods you'll need to make those puppies chirp when you let off the clutch

It wasn't til after my LTs & cam and 376 ft/lbs of torque that I could easily break loose my skinny 245 GY Eagle F1 GS D3s.

Unless you're racing, that's a lot of fun

Just sayin...

I have 17x11 zr1s with 315/35 tires.

My friend had 335 Hoosier drag radials on his camaro, took alot of hammering and some cutting for it to work though
