Default Project 69SS Wheels....

I think I'll be getting the Bogart RR10 wheels for the new project. 17x8 fronts, 17x9.5 rears. The car will be dropped 2" also. Here is a Photoshop I whipped up to "see" it:

<img src="http://users.ev1.net/~ynot_dv8/69camaro/X55_bogartslow.jpg" alt=" - " />

Whatcha think? <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

To tell you the truth I don't think those wheels bring out the best of your new car, but hey it's your car and $$$$$.

I'm going to have to agree. I like those wheels, but not in that size. kinda like having a 17" draglite, just don't look right.

No Torque-Thrust 2s!!! Those TT2s are a nice wheel, but just about every single classic car with 17s or 18s has them. If you go over to www.Pro-Touring.com , about 75% of those cars have TT2s.

I think I made the wheels a little big by accident. Also, the rear wheels will have a nice deep dish, not what is shown here.

Here is what the wheels really look like (17s front, 16s/slicks rear)

Tony,

I honestly don't think those wheels compliment your car. I know it's just a photoshop job. They don't look right though. TT II's would look awesome. I agree with you. Every classic muscle car has them. The black SS looks great with those wheels so I'm somewhat torn. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I'm sure you'll make a good choice.

Great looking wheels Tony. I agree the TT2s are old and dated. What your doing is great, sorta like, "Old dog, new tricks".

Besides it's your car, do what you want to do! <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />

I dont really like them but it might be scaling. I think 17's would be better suited to a car like that.
Good luck

WOW! That is one supreme lookin' '69! I like the pro-touring look alot. When I was in High School in the late 80's early 90's I had an idea of rebuilding an older car with modern suspension,etc. I took an 84 carbed Mstang and TOTALLY rebuilt the suspension. Wasn't that fast but would handle like nothing else. Now look where we are now! Im sure you are aware, but they make rally wheels in any size and width to order. They look really cool and retro as well. Just a heads up. BTW, I have seen the light and now own a VERY well handling WS6...not bad on the fast part either I hope to purchase a 67-72 pu and do the same thing...should be nasty. Keep up the good work!

Bogart RT wheels:

<img src="http://users.ev1.net/~ynot_dv8/69Camaro/X55_BogartsRT.jpg" alt=" - " />

Both of these wheels look much better in real life. The split-spokes on the first one will resemble the split 3-spoke factory steering wheel also.

Jeff1Vol, I know they make some big rally wheels, but they won't show off the big Baer brake system that I plan on putting on the car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Here are the two wheels I really like:

Bogart RR10 Road-Racing
<img src="http://www.bogartwheels.com/rr10-17-inchbig.gif" alt=" - " />

Bogart RT Road-Racing
<img src="http://www.bogartwheels.com/rt-road-race.gif" alt=" - " />

RTs look much better than RR10s. I also think a polished Fikse FM5, HRE 545, or iForged Aero would look great as well. Pretty much any shiny 5 spoke is going to look good on that car.

Can you indulge me, and 'shop the first pic with the following changes...

-remove all chrome from side of car
-make the front bumper body colored
-maybe work on that front 'shop tire, it looks like a 30" tire on a 18" rim...

I think the RT10's are cooler looking, but they fight the classic stock look of that 69SS. If the 69SS was dechromed it would have a more sleek and updated look IMO.

Looks good Tony!

I just ordered Kinesis 18" for my 69 Camaro SS LS1/T56 car.

What are you going to do to lower it? We used the QA1 front coil-over kit and a 1" block on the rear leafs.
