Yes the green is the low clearance pads. The 15" RTS is offered in the Low pad and Medium pad.

I also really like the magnums. Like I said, I am torn.

How bad do you guys think a magnum, alumastar, or rxt or rst front 18" would look with 15" prostars out back? Any one have a pic of this combo? Sorry for the hijack!

The Camaro has 15x10 Weld Racing Weldstar RT wheels with 7.5" backspace, and 17x4.5 Weld Racing Alumastar fronts. I liked the 15/17 combo a lot on my Camaro.

Man that looks absolutely killer. I love that look. The prostars don't look to much different than the weldstars. It looks like the weldstars have a beadlock? I am really thinking about a 17x4 alumastar or RTS front runners and the prostar rears. Did the 15" weldstars fit without grinding?

The Prostars actually do look quite a bit different in person. I used to have them before the Weldstars. The Weld RTS wheel is a 3 piece welded version of the Weldstar RT wheel. Notice how the Weldstar is a 3 piece bolted wheel. Other than that they're the same. The RTS wheel is the only way to go if you're buying new, in my opinion. They will clear the rear brakes as the Prostars will not. You can run 17x4.5 RTS wheels or Alumastars in the front which will both also clear. I personally like a little thinner spoked front wheel, so I like to mix the Weld RTS rear with the Alumastar front.

ya sure sure on the fronts
sucks aluma stars are twice the money. Polished I think RTS rear, and gregweld/race star front would look good too. Over the med. pad and hi pad RTS fronts

The black looks good. I however never have liked the 15/17 combo.

I tried that combo when I first got my 15x10 RT wheels, and thought it looked horrible, that's when I switched to Alumastar fronts.

Thanks man! And yep, but the look got old quick, so I went back to red ones. I think it gives good contrast against the grey.

Personally I think if you would of forgo'd the clear coat and left it kinda flat like your wheels almost, I think it would of looked killer. Either way I love tinted tails, as I just tinted mine the other day. I am still considering taking them off and hitting them with a coat of clear, but I am trying to decide if I like the rough flat black look first.

What tires were the 345s? Is the traction with the m/t's radically different?

I don't really have many pictures of it! Wish I had more. I love that hood though.

They were BFG 345 drag radials..so far the MT's work about as good as the BFGs did, but they haven't had a good burnout on them yet, just a quick one to clean them off, then I launched.

3,800 rpm launch, you can see where I peddled it about 2 feet out, and where I grabbed second lol.

I'm torn as well.
Polished is classic and more refined. Black tend to make a more bold statement.

I'm leaning towards black...

I know I'm semi-resurrecting a thread here (4 months old)?

I have an 02 SS and I'm in the market for a drag wheel setup.

I'm going with 15x10 RTS rims on a 7.5 BS with medium pad for the back.

I was thinking Weld RTS 17 x 4.5 rims for the front (I can't go with 15" rims because the prev owner put Stoptech brakes on the front, and I don't want to get rid of them).

Now I am thinking of the 17" Alumastars because of Camaro396's car!

I was looking at skinny 17" front tires on the jeg's website... and the only drag/skinny front tire in 17" diameter rim I could find was the M&H front runners (http://www.jegs.com/i/M-H/676/MSS-01...oductId=752031)

There must be other 26" tall skinny front tires for a 17" rim, right? I was hoping to get a tire with more tread than the M&H front runner... for street driving...

The reason I'm hung up on 26" tires is that I have heard you run into ABS problems when the front/rear tires are not the same diameter?

So... are there more than one skinny/drag tire available in 26" diameter for a 17" rim?

Camaro396, what tire are you running on the front of your Camaro?
