Default Nitto NTO5r advice

I ordered my wheel and tire setup a few weeks back and got them mounted on the car. I got 315 35 17s on the back. I am looking to take it to the track this coming week and i am very curious on how these tires will hook. I cant wait to be able to launch a bit. Is anyone running these, and know what pressure to start at or any tips?

Drop em to 20 lbs., get em hot, try different launch rpm's...really that's about it.

A neighbor of mine said to not lower the pressure in those tires.
He has them on his cobra with a lot of power.
Don't know if that will work out.
JUST TRY THEM UNTIL YOU HIT THE SWEET SPOT.
I put my M&H's down to 17lbs and away I go.

I started with 35 in my 555r's. I went to 28 then 25 then 22 and 20 is where they hooked best without getting too squirrley on the top end. If your not trapping over 100-110 lower pressure won't be too scary at high mph.

good deal, online in the mustang and fast fords, they set them at 25 and they seem to hold. I was hoping to get a tired that i didnt have to drop down to nothing to get them to hook.

I have them on my car and run them about 20-22 psi. I did a few burn outs and the marks are dark on the outside but not in the middle. That tells me I am not running enough pressure and the middle of the tire is cupping. I haven't had a chance to change it and see if it makes a difference.

Huh that is interesting liljay. Do you know how much your car weighs? I know my car transfers weight pretty well. Tell you the truth though my 3 runs of the night were 2.2, 2.18, 2.112 60's so it wasn't like I was hauling the mail out of the lights. The car has been 10.3 with a 1.79 60' with a th400, shitty converter and transbrake at 138. I'd like to see how well I can get these nitto's and heavy 17/18's to hook before I switch to a race set up but at 20 psi it I got my best 60' time. I'll try a little more pressure and see what happens in the next 2-3 weeks.

I don't know how much my car weighs. It's a 00' Firehawk. I would guess it weighs around 3500-3600. That's just a guess though.
