Default 315/40/18 Nitto NT05R question

So I'm looking into getting new wheels and like these tires but need to know if it's going to mess with my ABS (not 100% on it). The front tires will be 275/40/17's

i dont think it will but it might be a hit or miss type of thing idk. but people running 295-40-18 have no problems so going a little wider i dont think it should hurt it

That is a wider and taller wheel. when you go wider, with the same second number, it gets taller.

That rear tire will be 2.26" taller. Ive been told we are only allowed one inch difference. my abs does not work and it sucks

here is a tire calculator. you can get a ruff idea here. The actual tire size may differ. You should always check the tire company afterwards

Damn I have no idea what to do now. I will be definitely running my 275/40/17's out front and I want a 315 out back (obviously for looks). I live in NYC so potholes are everywhere so I wanted something with a decent amount of sidewall like my front tires.

i run 315/35/18s out back and my abs always kicks on at higher speeds. it looks really good but im probably going to delete the ABS all together because its annoying

27.5/2.54 = 10.827x.4= 4.33
31.5/2.54 = 12.402x.3= 3.72

It's not a huge difference.

If you want to run a staggered setup (18's and 17's) with a xxx/40/18 tire in the rear you will need a xxx/45/17 up front to avoid setting off abs. 40 series is way too small.

just do a 275/40x17 up front with a 315/35x17 out back, same sidewall, same height...
or if u want an 18 out back, get a 295/35x18, the sidewall will be about .25" less, but overall .5" taller...

I'm just doing the 315/30/18. They are going to be summer wheels/tires anyway. Thanks for all the input.

Cheapest I found so far was $612 shipped for 2 BFG drag radials 315/30/18's

The second numer is a percentage of the first number.

Just an example:
275/45/17 is 26.74"
215/40/18 is 24.77"
315/40/18 is 27.92"

The first number is always relevant. Actual sizes should be checked with the tire manufacture

Have you seen the 315/30? Ive only seen a few but the sidewall looks really skiny. Doesnt match the front. Id say run with the tire you wanted in the first place. Go with out ABS, Get used to drivin, be carefull and you will be fine.

Tried to find a friend with a 275/45/17 up front and see if the ABS works. That with the 315/40/18 will look great IMO.

Just some ideas. Post up what ever you do and goodluck

here are some pics of mine. I like the stance. Im goin with a taller tire up front next time. I think I have 255/45/17. i have a set of 275/40's that are goin on. The rear tires are 295/45/18

I've seen the 275/40/17 and 315/30/18 combo. Doesn't look too horrible. I would just stick with the 315/40/18 but the car is daily driven in NYC so I'd rather not disable ABS lol. Too many idiots out there.

Sidewall on a 275/40/17 is 4.3

Sidewall on a 315/30/17 is 3.7

Sidewall on a 315/40/18 is 5.0

Sidewall on a 305/40 would be 4.8. I do not know if anyne makes them, but it would be close to what you want.
