Default Who runs 28" rears?

After installing a 9" with 4.10 gears, I am thinking about going to a 28" tall tire. Car is a weekend killer with 315/35/17's on the back right now. Does anyone have any problems with the taller tires rubbing any where?

Im running the 325/45/17 M&H DRs. I massaged the inner fenders a little and rolled my fenders. They dont rub at all, I just wanted extra room from rolling the fenders.

I am interested in this same topic .... 315's with 4.10's here also only with an S60 in an SS. A little massaging was required for my 315's and I will be going with a 28" tall slick shortly. I am looking at 28x10.5x15S's. I understand Formulas/TransAms have a little roomier rear wheel wells. From you Pontiac avatar, I presume you are running a Formula or TransAm???

I did have to do the BFH mod on one spot in my rear wheel wells. My car is also stock ride height and not lowered in any way.

Might have to roll your fenders. I would recommend Adjustable lower control arms so you can center the wheel back into the wheel well.

My 28'' slicks rub at times when taking corners, i havent ran a 28'' radial to tell if they rub at all.

I had 28" tall tires for a while. They were 275/60/16 on a 9.5 inch rim. We had to grind some of the fender (the top part where there is about a 1" lip) and screw the plastic part of the fender (on the sides) to the body of the car to keep it from rubbing. It worked nicely. I dunno about 28" tall 315's though...

Depending on your 28" wheel /tire combo. Some had no issues running a 275/60 drag radials on a 15X10 7.5" bs drag wheels with no or little bfh mod in the inner wheelwells. Are the 9" shortened or stock width? I run 325/50's on the same size wheels, but had to BFH and cut the hell out of it(bump stop). Hope this help.

I have 325/50 et streets on my 15x10 RTs wheels with no rubbing at all. I have the heater hose mod with stock control arms and pan hard bar. All I had to do was roll the quarter panel and do some massaging to the fender well.

295/55/15 mt et street radials on weld rts medium pad 15x10 w/7.5 bs.

had to grind down the ridges on the brake calipers so the rims wouldn't rub.

cut off the outside of the bump stop (.5 in) up to the original mounting holes. will make a plate to offset the bump stop inward so the original can be bolted back on.

the tires fit "snuggly" but don't rub anywhere. i need to move the rearend ahead about .5 - 1 in so it centers it in the wheelwell a little better. i may need to massage the front part of the wheel well at that point but not much.

car is not lowered in the rear but i think i could easily lower it an inch or more and still be ok.
