wheel recommendation for 2002 ss
What are some good websites to view wheels these days?
currently have the oem 10-spoke painted wheels, and I don't like them because they are hard to clean and not crazy how they look, but they ride nice on the car. Also have a set of replica zr-1 5-spoke wheels that are chrome.
my 10-spokes with original goodyear tires weigh 44 lbs each.
my chrome zr-1's with michelin tires weigh 54 lbs each.
I hate the way the car rides with the chrome wheels with the michelin tires, not sure how much it is because of the extra weight or if it's the tires, but they've been shitty since day 1.
It also looks like the oem wheels are 17x9 with 50mm offset, it's stamped on the inside. my zr-1's are 17x9.5 (i think it's 9.5, I know it's not 11 wide) with 56mm offset.
I like the look of the chrome zr-1 but I don't want the weight of chrome.
I'm looking for wheels that'll be as light as possible and would consider getting a polished aluminum wheel. Car is driven only in summer, garaged in winter.
Would also consider getting an 18" wheel, but I don't know what size, and I would want the same size wheel/tire on all four. But if going to an 18" wheel/tire will make the ride worse then I will stick with 17's. I also prefer the look of the 275 wide tire vs say a 245 if I would have to do 245's on an 18" wheel.
looks like part# 5061 for the magnesium rim,
part# 5102 for polished and 5121 for silver painted.
Does anybody know the rim weights of these, along with the offset numbers and if they would fit a 2002 camaro? Original tire size is 245/45-17. A 255/45-17 tire should fit ok? I am considering firestone oval indy tires in 255/45 on a 17x8.5" rim.
What's a good source for c5 rims?
