Default 295/45/17 MT drag radials on 9.5" rim

I don't know if any of these pictures help show what it looks like but I'll get some better ones when they are on the car.

Tall tire for an F-Car, but should do well on the drag strip.

It is but I also have 18" wheels with goodyear F1 GS-D3's on them for the street.

There are a few other threads on here of guys running the same tire on wider rims and they fit the car just fine. Some people think a 295 tire is too big for a 9.5" rim and in most cases it is but not for this tire.

It better be good at the strip, I was pissed to get a best of a 1.9 60' with worn 275 MT drag radials. I hoping for a 1.75 60' and maybe a 12.5 to 12.3 1/4 mile.

I am having the same problems. Cant get it to do much better than a 1.9 with my old 315/35/17. So i am hoping that the bigger sidewall with 295/45/17 will help out with that.
Im in for some track results.

Got them from Tomz Wheels but I think he is not doing any business right now.

Here is a good website for camaro wheels.

Don't know about the +35 offset though.

I've got some mounted on a pair of 17x11 zr1's. The wheels are wider than the tires are, but it makes the contact patch nice and flat so I'm sure they would hook best like this. If I had a spare couple of 17x9's I would rather have them mounted on those. Anyway, I just got the tires...so no pics or runs yet. I doubt I will run them at all until I do a rearend swap. I subscribed so I could hopefully remember to post back in here later.

FrankSS....I'm still interested in those wheels, but money has been tight. Are you still in the Savannah area?

Oh man op! According to some people on this board your going to wreck your car and kill puppies for putting a 295 on a 9.5 wheel!!!

( I truly hope you don't have an accident, just making fun of some people)

I mounted each of my 295/45's on both a 11" zr1 & a 9" (or 9.5"?) just to check fitment on my car, and while the 11" did give a flatter contact patch, they tires really fit the smaller wheel better. The 11" rims are actually wider than the bead area of the tire. If I lay one of them down flat, the lip of the rim will hit the pavement before the sidewall of the tire does. I'd think that if either combo would be unsafe, it'd be the 11" one.

Most tires you can't put a 295 on a 9.5" rim but these you can because Mickey said so.

That's kinda why I posted to show everyone what it looks like.
