I've never weighed them but they were about as light as a feather compared to my old 17x9.5/17x11 ZR1's

What about a 17" wheel on a truck/suv?

I run 17x9.5 Chrome ZR1s and 275/40/17 Nitto 555 that weigh 47lbs a piece so its about a 20lb weight reduction for me, not to mention rotating mass.
That's why I asked. I'm in studderin's boat as I don't want to run skinnies, but want a lighter front wheel. I've picked out my new front wheels as 18x8s with 245s.

I should be going to the track in a couple weeks after i get a few bugs worked out. I'm hoping for some mid 10's and some 1.5 60' or better.

150 shot and yes i spray out of the hole. Last year with bolt-ons, 150 shot and my smaller stall and stock suspension it went 11.3 @ 119 1.6 60'. I've changed a lot since then.

Nice looking car! Thank you for posting this because I was actually just contemplating going this route from a 315 BFG.

Definitely go with these tires. I can't stop flooring it from a dig since i've never had tires that would dead hook on the street lol

Just to add some info for those looking to not run a skinny on the street. I run a 17x8 5.5bs with a 205/55-17(26") tire on the front of my GTO.

OP strictly for the street how did the Nittos compare to these? I am on 8 year old BFG KD 315's and don't hook for ****!! So i'll need to upgrade soon. I need something solely for the street since I have slicks for the track.

The Nitto's were just the street version tire, no the drag radial, you know that right? I never raced or really got on it from a dig with the Nitto NT05's. I mainly put those on because i took it on a 2k mile road trip and didn't want DR's for that. I can say that i've had 555R's and they actually worked out decent on the street for me.
