I've had Nitto 555r for the last 25,000 miles and NEVER had an issue in the rain. Good tires. They seem to wear best for me with 25-26psi.

Toyo R888, they look and hook great. As mentioned before, they're pretty wide for a 315 also.

where are you buying the Toyo R888s from? I've seen a few sites but I'm sure they can be had for cheaper.

I'm going to have some work done to reduce the size of that spacer. Traction is ok, but it could be better. I still break free with only a catback and lower compression (-2cc pistons). I'm on Strano's & Konis so my next traction mod will be LCA relcation brackets...

I have a LOT of tread left, but then I also have maybe only 3,000-4,000 miles on them. Spent $1,142 from DiscountTireDirect.
Those are some good looking tires. I just cant justify that kind of money for as little as I actually get to drive my car. Why are you looking to reduce the size of the spacer? Are there some negative side effects of running one?
While there could be others, the only negative effect I know of is the top of the wheel well cutting into the tire if I turn too hard and fast. This might be fixed with fender rolling, but I also want my wheels to tuck in more... closer to stock.

I have the same, Good all round tire.

they aren't that bad in the rain, aired down they'll hook on the track, handle alright in the curves, I've heard between 7 to 10k miles max... I'll be lucky to get 5k miles on them.

Check Ebay, thats where I got mine for cheap. Only issue with Going the Ebay route is the tires are like 3, almost 4 years old when I received them. But they were brand new, no cracking, so that "age"on them is the tradeoff.

Do you have any experiance with the life span on the Toyo dr's? From my understanding they are rated 15-20k mi depending on abuse, work well in rain, and provide better traction than a nitto...wich is why I posted them!
Good day

Look what came in the mail today...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/album.php...ictureid=74578

I have more pics but I cant get them to upload. I think I should send the fronts off to get repolished as well.

I still have to get tires and spacers as well.

Are you sure a 1" spacer/adapter is all that is needed, plus the BFH of course? My car isn't lowered but just measuring off the stock wheels and tires I dont see how I can move them out 1" without hitting the fender lip.

Ive had my wheels and tires with both 555Rs, and 555s on both of our WS6s and they cleared no problem with a 1" spacer. Ill see if i got pics of the setup on my wifes car.

I dont believe either car has rubbed the fender, unless there is alot of weight in the car, on a good bump. Rolling the lips isnt difficult, and i know someone on here will rent you a roller if you cant get it done locally just in case.

PM Xsta Z 28 with your original wheel size and make. I bet 1" is too big. Were these 9" wheels to start with?

If I'm doing my math right, and you had a 17x9 wheel with a 50mm offset, and you widened the wheel two 2", than then new offset from center is 74.7mm. A good offset for an 11" wide wheel is +45 to +56 mm according the faq. You would subtract an offset in that range from 74.7, and the remainder is the size of your required spacer/adapter.

So, 74.7 minus 25.4 = 49.3. Is that the way you mean to do the math? Thats pretty close to 50mm, so, are you saying 1" is the right spacer?

And yes they were 9" wheels. The 02 WS6 Speedlines.

I've never seen the process on rolling the fender lips. Did you do that on your cars? I assume the roller keeps you from damaging the fenders or making them look bad?

Actually "Current Offset" - "Desired offset" = "size of spacer/adapter".

You added 1" (25.4mm) on each side of the original center line, so a 1" spacer will put you back at a 50mm offset (approx). How close are you on either side of the tire to the inner/outer fender respectively?

Mine are half rolled due to the old wheel/tire combo that was on my car, but my wifes are completely untouched.

Here are some shots of my wife's car. They were taken by the previous owner. This is with the 555Rs.

I cant say for sure. I dont have the new tires just yet. I have eye-balled it with a straight edge and it look pretty tight with the current 275's on there. But that black car /\ up there looks damned near identical to mine, plus neather of our cars are lowered so I assume if the 1" spacer worked for him it should work for me, respectively close anyways? Maybe with a little hammer work?
