I got some Style 5 BBS 16" rims I want to put on my 96. They are 8" wide wheels. I like the staggered look. What tire combo should I go with. I want wide tires in the rear. I read that the widest you can go 8" wheels is 255 safely.

^^^ A 255/50-16 ALL AROUND would be a good street set up for 16 x 8s.
About the only street tire left in that size is the BFG Sport Comp 2, which is a decent street tire, but FAR FAR from an autocross tire OR a drag radial.

^^^That does look 'classy', and mean as well with those tires' big shoulder tread blocks, on those wheels.
(The 285s add just that little bit more sidewall to stave off the 'rubber band look' too many others have.)

The same with rear.
So far I love the more aggressive stance and no worries about fitment at all. No fended rolling or bfh to fit. I am using hubcentric rings.
