Default HRE 790R 20x11 with 305/25-20 Rubber

I used the wheel calculators at 1010Tires and scoured the internet for pictures of tire and wheel setups to figure out what combination would be best for my Firebird. In the end, HRE used my order from the retailer to determine the best fitment based upon their experience with F-Body's. I have 20x11 rear wheels with a 50mm offset and 305/25-20 tires and there's plenty of clearance all around. I have Ground Control coilovers with Eibach ERS shocks with the collar set to it's highest position to increase the ride height and rolled fenders.

I sent them back to HRE a couple of wheels ago to change the inner and outer barrels. The fronts are now 19x9.5 and the rears are 20x12. I'll post more pics when I get them back.

Your car doesn't look too bad at all. You definitely got the stance right to pull off the large wheels. The rear wheels stick out a tad too much for my taste, but all in all your car looks pretty good. I'd imagine driving that with no clearance between the wheels and the fender must be a pain in the *** though.

Thanks! I think they stick out too far too (about 3/4in the rear). That's the reason I sent them back to HRE. In the picture, I have 25mm spacers in all four corners. Without them, the wheels were tucked in too much for my taste. They were 19x9, +42mm and 20x11, +50mm. I don't know the new offset sizes but I told Vince [at HRE] to make them flush with the fenders.

Default Eibach ERS

They are the Eibach ERS springs included with the Ground Control coilover kit. I removed the top collar of the rear to lower it even more than they were in the first picture. I just re-mounted the wheels and tires after I had HRE reengineer them for me. They are now 19x9.5" in the front and 20x12" in the rear (hence the tire stretch now as opposed to before the wheels were widened an additional inch). After I wear down the tread on the rear, I'm going to fit a thicker pair of tires on the rear and then widen the outer portion of the rear fenders to go for a pro-touring look (its cheaper to extend the fender than mini tub it).

I have to agree with the nay sayers. They may look good on a BMW, but 20" wheels on F-bodies make them look like donks. It pushes the car too high up in the air, and the wheels look disproportionate in relation to the body.

It's JP Vizage. It looks a little different than other installations because the shop trimmed the edges so it doesn't flare out.

Yep. I use the LMs for track days and the Torq Thrusts for the strip. As much as I love the HRE, I don't kid myself by thinking they actually improve performance. They're primarily for cruising and shows. I could've ordered them in a 20/21 setup for an extra $360, but I thought 20s were pushing it given the car's shape.
