Exclamation HELP! Camaro SS and z28 rims

I have a 99 camaro ss with the zr1 rims on them. They use 275/40/17 all around and wanted to just get the z28 rims that are 16" as they are cheaper to replace tires for. I bought the z28 rims with tires and the problem is they do not fit because the caliper is pretty big. Any suggestions?

Are the calipers and rotor size something other than stock?

if you can't afford to replace tires why did you buy an SS?

I am not sure. The guy I bought it from says it was all stock so I am assuming they are. How can I tell if they're aftermarket? part number Im assuming?

Because I am broke 19 year old college student that refused to get a I4 camry! lol I am planning on building it up after college.

No kidding! Especially since 275-40-17 tires can be had for $103 a piece.

You sure they are hitting the caliper? They should go right on.

Does it need tires right now? If the tires are in decent shape and you drive somewhat normally they should last quite a while. It pays to shop around though, I always buy from Tirerack but came across a set of 275/40's for 83 bucks a piece locally.

If the tires on the SS wheels are in decent to good shape, ride on them and save up the money for tires over time. That's my $0.02.

Stock, brakes are the same on Zs and SSs so that wouldn't be your issue.

X2. If the calipers are the problem, they are not stock.
