Default Nitto 555R questions inside

My car is in Sig and I got a TCI SSF3500 coming very soon. I know I can't get traction on street tires so I'm switching to Nitto 555R Drag Radials. The problem is I can not afford new rims right this second after dishing out 1K for the converter, shift kit, tranny cooler and install (I don't have the tools or knowledge to do tranny work myself). So for now I'm gonna run 245 Nittos since they fit my stock rims.

I have read that to get any real traction after this hard hitting converter goes in I need to upgrade to 315 Nittos. So what I need to know is,

What size rims hold the 315 Nittos?

Where is the best place to buy those rims for a good price?

Will the new rims look ok with stock ones still up front?

Thanks in advance.

315's would probably be for 11inches wide

check our sponsors for rims, and ebay & ebaymotors. also check the the "for sale" section here

well depending what wheels you have.....you might be able to keep stockers upfront and put new 17x11's outback. But with that size tire you probably will be rolling in the fender because of fitment issues.

hope this helps

You dont need 315's to hook with that convertor a few people run PT4400's on 275 drag radials and they hook, just heat them up. For 275's you need a 9" wide rim and for 315's you need a 10.5" rim.

I have 275 nitto drags on the rears of my 17x10 smoothies. And yes they hook up way better than the generic tires i had on before. I nailed the gas from a dead stop and destroyed my rear tires. That was the 1st time I nailed it from a stop with the tci 3500. Nittos went on the next day!

That sounds good. What size rims do I need for the 275 Nittos? I might go that route. Thanks for all the responses here guys. I appreciate it.

no..275s are fine on the 17x10, I was just showing ideal. And Nitto DOES make a 285 drag, but its 18" hehe

So Myth01...go with the 285-35-18 new Nitto Drag Radial.
