Winter Tires - 245/45/17 on 9.5" rim??
I have a question here. I was looking at some winter tires - 245/45/17 and they recommend a rim width of 7-9 inches. I currently have replica z06 rims that are 9.5 inches wide.
The tire guy is telling me that this is ok and I will have no problems.
Can anyone comment on this? Is this a safety issue?
Thanks for any info.

A 245 should really be on a 8" rim, but given what all these hella flush guys drive on daily, i would say it is less of a safety issue and more of an aesthetic issue lol. The tire will definitely have a slight stretch to it, as you can see in this suby thread:

i had 245's on a 9.5 with rep. z06s (came that way when i bought the car, see pics in my album) and had no issues. Swapped them out for something wider (wheels and tires) but the 245/45/17 should work. Mine was 245/18/40, no issues. hope that helps
