Default Resizing wheel holes to accept 5/8 stud

So I have had some issues with strange wheel studs lately in my 6spd car. Well now it looks like I am going to need to step up to a 5/8 stud j stead of a 1/2 stud. Now the 5/8 stud won't fit through the cuurent hole in the wheel. Cal I have them drilled out and rechamfered so I can run a larger stud or is it just time for new set of wheels? This question pertains to my set of 16 5 spokes and my zr1 knock offs
