Default KDWs vs 555s vs ???

Its time for new tires for my SS. I've had KDWs before and absolutely loved them except for the road noise. I've heard a lot of good things about the Nitto 555s as well. I'm about to replace at least my rear tires but I have no idea which ones I want to go with.

Has anybody on here owned both tires? I'd like to have an apples to apples comparison.

Or if there's something else You guys suggest I'm interested

I've seen "g-Force T/A KDW 2" and "g-Force T/A KDW NT" but I can't find a difference between the two? Anybody know what the deal is between the two?

I'm guessing this is your DD that doesn't have to much done to it based on the tire selection. I have had BFG KD, KDW, KDWS and 555s. I wasnt a big fan of any of the BFG's becuase they never lasted. Traction wasn't bad but out of the 3 I would go with the KDW.

Now the KDW vs the 555's is hard to choose. I loved my 555's and they hooked much better then the KDW and lasted a little longer.. maybe because I wasnt racing as much lol. Now if your concerned about price you can't go wrong with BFGs.

Now are you talking about the KDW's with the spiraly wavy directional tread pattern? Or the ones with the standard looking tread pattern with the little slits in the meat?

I had the standard (older) KDW's and I broke them loose wayy too easy. I've heard the new ones are great though.

I know that these are not the KDW's, but I used to have the g-Force T/A KDWS.

Hated those tires!

If you want a good Nitto, go with the NT05. Much much better then the 555's

I've had KDW's in the past and now I have 555's. They are both good, but I prefer the 555's. Althought next time I'm stepping up to NT05's, but mines not a DD.

One and the same - both refer to the KDW with the flame tread pattern.

I have bfg's kdw II's best tires I've owned. Mounted on c5 wheels my dad tried them out on his vette and liked them better than his 555's.

I would go wit hthe Nto5s if the 315s wer not almost a quarter inch smaller in diamiter than the 275 fronts. I run staggered tires and for some reason there 315 mold is a little off, it is also thinner than there 315 drag 555r making it a very small tire for its size, I would of loved to go with the nto5s but i couldnt see having a 25.6 tall tire infront and a 25.1 in back
