I need 2 new rear tires now, whats the biggest I can go on this rim as in width and height??

the front is non negotiable since the clearance is only 1/2" from the fender

but the rear has about a 1 1/2" gap between the tire and the top of the outside fender

If you want it to look right, and everyone will have their own different opinion on this, but I wouldn't go any larger than 285-40-17 on a 17x9 wheel.

agreed... also be aware don't stagger the overall heights of the front and rear too much or else the ABS will have a seizure trying to figure out what is going on. lol

so running 275 fronts and 285 rears is ok? What about height has the difference between 40,45,50

Man, my car SAT that low with a tunnel mounted UMI TA. It never scraped, but one day it met a raised man hole from an unfinished road. It ripped the brace mounts out of the floor and mangled the brace itself. I limped the car back home, did 8 hrs of repair to get the floor back together and replaced the TA with a trans mounted adjustable unit... since the mounting spots in the floor were gone.

Maybe my fault for installing a relocated TA on a DD...
