I should say tho if the rim is painted black like powdercoated or whatever if its from the manufacturer like that its perfectly acceptable but rattle canned snowflakes do look like crap except I do like the painted black 10 spoke ss rims dunno why but they look as if they should have came that way

As an owner of an f-body with black wheels I'm biased lol. I like black wheels... but only if they go with the car and have some sort of lip. Sometimes they look completely out of place. All black wheels don't cut it for me, well unless they're some high end ones, those are usually badass.
That white car is awesome. Pulls those wheels perfectly.

I think a lot of the same things can be said about chrome wheels. A lot goes into making a car look just right. Color combos, creating a deep contrast and accenting a cars strong points. Whether a car has black or chrome wheels is irrelevant, it's how the whole package is pulled together.

I bought my car with the oem chrome 5 spokes. they didnt' look bad before i starting slapping all the black on my car, after the hockey stripes they looked goofy. didn't have th emoney for wheels and tires at the time so i didn't have much of a choice other than to "rattle can". everyone that has ever complimented my car didnt' know that they were the stock wheels just plastidipped with a coat of clear. Should upgrade to 17s this month.. real black ones. DO THEY REALLY LOOK BAD?

I don't think it will because everyone has a different opinion on wheels. I'm not a fan of the "murdered out look" but many people are. SnakesStompers F body in post 23 looks awesome on those black Classics. So I say it depends on the car/car color and the design of the wheel.

Nevertheless, the poll shows a significant percentage towards the black wheels and really depends on the look, fit and finish of it all. I personally like the "murdered" look, however I have seen some really bad rattle-can jobbies that make me cringe!!

Will silver wheels go out of style? Will chrome wheels go out of style? It's a style, it's been around since the wheel rolled, and probably will be around for as long as it still does. A lot of looks are "played out" but I don't see black wheels going anywhere any time soon. I was never really a fan of black wheels until I designed the combo on my Cobra.

I dont think they will go out of style, but the trend of painting any wheel on any car black I hope dies off. There are alot of followers in the car scene, just because that jetstream blue Z06 you saw at the autoX looked killer with satin black ccw c10's, does not mean your rattle canned stockers will too.
On the right car, with the right stance, the right color, and the right offset, black wheels can look amazing. For me that generally constitutes a Forgeline, Fikse, Forgestar or CCW wheel, on the right color with high end brakes ( brembo, stoptech, ap racing). To me, the black has to be a satin powdercoat, not rattle canned or gloss, to look good.
I prefer dark grey or machined myself.

Black centers are nice. My Fikse are all black and I liked that look for a while. But with my BBK I decided. To polish the hoops and go a different color for the centers. My car is NBM and it pulled off the look. But I color the way polished wheels make the color stand out more.
