Default Todd Whats the difference between Kumho 711's and 712's? I need some tires

Besides the 711's looking better. Is one any better than the other one? I need some tires for my SS soon (275/40/17's) and my wife won't let me spend 650.00 like I did on my KDW tires which I wish I could still get. What do you think I should get? I need a tire that will last a long time, a tire that will handle good, and a tire that will be seeing 380rwhp lol. Dont answer to the last statement I know drags for the back would help. Well thanks for any help Todd and anyone else who chimes in. I don't know the exact amount she will let me spend so throw me some good ideas besides divorcing her lol.

I wish I could tell you more. We never carried the 711, nor have I personally had a chance to test a set. Unfortunately I dont have any more info on that one, than you do. Sorry

fastmatt98, I've never tried either on a fbody but i used to use them on my 95 gt convertible (318 rwhp), and i couldn't hook for **** with the 711's, so i switched to the 712's in hopes that it would have a little better traction (wet and dry) because they were a great price...still spun alot. the tread life was very very good, i got about 28k miles out of them each time and that was with abusing the crap out of them. if you have a few extra bones to spare, id go with the BFGoodrich T/A KDW's, 17's are around 130-145 depending on where you buy them from...wet and dry traction is awesome. i used them this winter as my z28 was my daily driver i haven't even felt the need to put the nittos back on yet cause they hook very well, and they seem to last alot longer than nittos...

hope that helps you some man good luck

I need to get four new hoops for my SS but I haven't decided which ones to get. Last year I bought two Kumhos 275-40zr-17 for the front on my WS6 and they seem to be a fair tire, but I haven't tried them on the back for traction though. I have heard that they aren't very good for traction though. I am getting two nittos for the WS6 for the rear.

I've got the 711's and get pretty decent traction, they wear a lot faster and are a little softer compound than I would have liked though... The price is right on them...
