Default Got some new stuff

I was just gonna run some chrome firebird wheels for rear drag tires but am limited to what I can run on a 16 X 8 for tires. I come real close to getting a set of the racestars, had the guy on the phone asking questions about them, got a lil turned off about not being able to get direct drill without getting the darkstars. After thinking it over I decided I should go with a wider wheel & 15 inch tire would work best. I was discussing it with a buddy of mine & he suggested Billet Specialties, thats really what I liked too but didnt really wanna spend the money on em. FedEx dropped these off to me yesterday.

F-body specific wheels, clear the rear caliper nice.
New tires

What I didnt know when I bought these, the bumpstops will need removed & BFH mod to the wheelwells. Figured this out when test fitting a wheel today & only had 1/8 inch between the wheel & bumpstop.
I ordered the fronts in 15x3 3/4, 1.75 BS will I need spacers for these?

If you have 1/8" of clearance on the bump stop, once the suspension is loaded then it wont interfere with the wheel unless you're rally racing or something. Lol.

I was thinking that too but I got a feeling its still gonna rub if some trimming isnt done. I will find out on Monday once I get a tire mounted.

Take the aluminum spacer out, and install the bumpstop directly to the car. That's how the cars with 16's come factory. It might help a little. I know there are still people that leave the bumpstops on and only have any interference when the suspension is completely unloaded.

Do you have an adjustable panhard bar yet? If so, it's possible that you have more clearance o. One side than the other. If that's the case, you may be able to balance it out. Also, the rearend shifts to the drivers side under load.

Panhard bar is adjustable, tires are centered side to side.

Ha te same problem with bump stops when putting my 18x10.5 on too. Then I realized that if the suspension was loaded it wouldnt hit so I jacked the reared up with the car and it works fine. If using floor jacks I would recommend getting two because it was kind of a pita to go back and forth

I got the rear tires mounted & balanced yesterday & got some time today to test fit the r.rear. With the car on the hoist the tire touches the inner fender but when on the ground theres plenty of clearance, 1-2 inches everywhere so I wont have to cut or BFH anything. A few guys had me concerned these wouldnt fit without modding the wheelwells but they fit perfect. It looks like the car being lowered 1 inch might have helped that.

I got the car cleaned up today & bolted up the rear tires. Went for a short ride in it & rides good no rubbing. Still waiting on my front runners to be built, should be in next week but it will be going to the track like it sits this weekend. Some more pics.
