Default BFH mod?

I just got my TT2 today. Im running 17X11s with 315s on the back. I didnt do the BFH mod, I just removed the bump stops. Worked out ok for now but I was curious if I would still need to do it. I dont have much clearance between the tire and the fender well. I have maybe 1/4 - 1/2 inch of space between them. I was thinking of just cutting the bump stop and trying to reinstall it, or maybe just leaving it off.

any suggestions would be great.

Also if I need to do the BFH mod would I leave the bump stop on while beating the hump or pull it off ( pretty much how do I do the mod)

Thanks for all your help

i don't think it's gravely important that the bump stop be on there. i do think the BFH would have been a wiser first option though.

It keeps the rear end from bottoming out. You might need to shave off about 1/4 inch on the bumper stopper and the aluminum plate.

Hey how can I shave it off? I know I can cut the bump stop but what about the plate?

Also Ive done some searching, Can I just jack up the car by the axle and just reinstall the bumpstops? Will it rub when it is on the ground. I know it would wedge the bumpstop against the wheel if I jack up the car by the frame.

The ONLY time the wheel/tire is going to rub the bumpstop is when the axle is at FULL Drop. So there are only two conditions:

1: When you raise the vehicle other than by the rear axle.

2: When you wanna play Dukes of Hazzard . . . .

EVERY car that I've had with big wheels and tires I have NEVER touched the bump stop, and have had no issues . . . .

Well I did the BFH mod today and put the bumpstops back on. I did have to grind down a spot where the bump stop mounts but that was all. I also painted the back calapers. It all turned out really good. Thanks to all of you

Did you shave off part of the aluminum plate too?
