Do you ever do any burnouts on the street with them? I know it sounds childish but just curious. I don't burn rubber much anymore mostly because of costs of fixing stuff that breaks and tires themselves lol. But every once in a while I will break them loose.

Ive been pondering the same thing about some decent street tires that will hook up better than these hockey pucks i have now. I hate having to swap on my DR's when I plan on street racing somebody.

Leaning towards a 275 nitto innvo

Just took my dad's ws6 for a ride and I'll be going with the comp-2's.

Check these out, I have these on my 300C Chrysler, excellent wet weather performance as well as dry weather.

I don't think I'm going to go with DRs until I get more POWA! I'm leaning towards some Riken Raptors or some Nitto nt555 street tires.

For the love of god don't get Riken Raptors. I just had them on my 96 Z28 and they were horrible. Mine's a stock M6 and I slid all over the place. I picked up some Continental ExtremeConract DW's 3 days ago and I'm very happy with them so far. Haven't broken loose yet

+1 on the Riken Raptors. They are terrible, granted I have closer to 500rwhp, but I'll never put them on my car again.

Damn really? I had them on my Z28 and they were pretty good. But that was about 2 years ago.

315/35/17 Nitto NT555 here, but not the DRs. My car makes a little more than 400 to the wheels and I can roll into 2nd and spin them and I have 4.30 gears. I can usually get them to hook pretty well 2nd gear on if the roads are warm, but I have a LOT of suspension.

I plan on destroying these tires this summer and then I'm going get some NT05s or some Toyo R888. And for what its worth the NT555 non DR tires run normal sizes. Mine have a 12.5" section width mounted on 17x11s

Id vote Nitto 555R or Toyo TQs for a daily DR. I ran both in a 315/35/17 and both hooked decently well on the street
Also got alot of life out of them. The Nittos run narrow but the TQs ran wide IMHO. Almost as wide as my friends 335 R888s and wider than his 315 RA1s. The Nittos were barely wider than my 275/40/17 MT ET Streets.

nitto 555R is the one you want on there. look for 20k mile+ tread life with some burn outs/racing, good with rain. The 555's are good too but i would put them up front as i did.

In my experience the NT555 is a POS. My friend and I each used a set a few years back for some auto cross, circuit racing, and at the strip.....they're absolutely useless lol.
He was running them on an 01 cobra with 300rwhp, and at the time I had 340rwhp in my WS6, and we were both spinning into 2nd...I wouldn't even dream of trying them now that I have 420-430ish at the wheels.

I'd recommend going with either the NT05s (great tire) or trying out the NT555Rs.
I'll be throwing on a set of nt555Rs here in a week or so, I'll let yall know how it goes.

I LOVE my 315/35/17 Nitto NT555-r's. Hook great and are amazing in the rain. My car sits at the 400-410rwhp mark as well so street tires are a no go for me.

Nitto 555 a POS? No way. That's a fantastic tire. My son just put my 17 inch 555's on his camaro and for a nice weather daily driver who likes to drive hard they are a fantastic tire. If you want to drag race once in a while then step up to a 555R on the rear. My ws6 is a weekend warrior car so I just took the plunge with 15 inch ET Streets and skinnies.

Several of my friends have the 555 street tire and also hate it... if your son's car is just a bolt on car or is stock then I'm sure they are a good tire, but they suck for the higher hp cars.

Goodyear Eagle F1s the v-directional ones were always the best I have ran and seen and felt hook up in dry and wet conditions. Amazing tires for high speed turns gripping very well also.

If you have good suspension, you can hook with nearly bald, cheap tires like I have. Just all depends on car setup and what you like and your wallet.

Like LT1TransAm said, for higher hp cars I think they're terrible, even back when I had my full bolt on A4 Z28 (without a stall) I would still spin into 2nd, and launching them on anywhere other than a prepped track was a no no.

Exactly, if you're making anywhere under, idk 340ish RWHP, without gears (3.42+) you'll be ok for a daily driver. But don't plan on taking them out to any kind of track any putting up any decent numbers.
