Default Street tires for 430rwhp daily driver.

It's time to get new tires when my tax refund comes. Right now I have some all season coopers that are horrible, I can't go past 50% throttle in 2nd, and I've gotten sideways rolling into it in 3rd a few times. They also have no grip at all in the wet... it's like driving on ice.

I live in florida so I'm looking for a summer tire that's great in the rain, and right now I'm leaning towards the bfg comp-2's since my dad has them on his WS6 and he loves them, unless someone can steer me into a better tire for the $$. And it would be nice to be able to go full throttle in 2nd gear without lighting up my tires.

I also have a spare set of 17x11's that have me tempted to go with 555's on all 4 corners with 315's out back, but I don't want to be going throgh back tires every 10k miles since I wouldn't be able to rotate them.

What gears are you running? They make a Nitto 555 street tire. That's what I was running On my 450whp car. Spun in first but hooked in 2nd

4.10's. Hows the tread life on them? I know I won't be hooking in 1st on any street tire, but 2nd gear would be nice.

I am wondering the same thing. I have about 7500 miles on my Sumitomo htrz and they are down to the wear bar. I have heard good things about the toyo tq's.

Great traction and long mileage usually don't go together when you're talking about tires!! My vote would be for the Nitto 555's, if you want more dry traction then try a drag radial with tread (BFG, MT DR II, Nitto 555R), but you can't be burning them every chance you get!!

Dude I tell you what, I gotta set of the Toyo r888's 295/30/19 and they are just amazing. Zero issues and no wheel hop, I have 4:10's and make 430ish to the wheels. I highly recommend them. Unless it's cold outside they will hardly spin at all in first and hook like hell the rest of the time.

I'm looking for something around 300 treadwear, I don't want to be replacing tires every 10k and I need something good in florida monsoons. I just want something that will last ~25k and be able to hold 430rwhp in 2nd gear which shouldn't be hard for a true street tire. I know 1st gear and launching it is a lost cause.

have you looked into MH radials? when it comes to traction or tire life, your going to have to pick one side or the other. I made 571rwhp, and i used a set of NT01 315's and i could hammer it in 2nd and itd spin for a split second and hook. and this is 50*+ weather. this was with 4.10 gears and 3.90 gears. normal street tires are going to be harder than a drag radial. so they are going to spin a lot easier. but for only 430rwhp, you may be able to get by with a nice regular street tire. I put about 13k miles on my NT01's and they are about worthless now.

From what I have read, toyos will hook alot better than Nittos in most cases.

I've heard good things about the 555's. Come with 10/32 on top of decent tread life

Cant really have the best of both worlds. I would probably go with the nittos if your worried about them lasting and having some decent grip.
I run mt drs. I made the last pair last me 14,326 miles but my car was only bolt on/stall then and 10-15 track passes.
Next time im thinking on going with the nittos.

Yeah the Toyo's are 100 Treadwear lolz. I am gonna venture a guess that 300 treadwear is not gonna hold **** with that power level...I had them on my old T/A and it spun till around 90 lol. That was with the stock 3:42's haha.

Hankook RS3's are are great tire. Treadwear is kind of low if you drive a lot though.

Im thinkning about MT dr's, but I want a wide 315. are they wide? I know some tires 315s are smaller than others.
