Default Kumho MX or YOko AVS ES100 for 275/35/18

going with 275/35/18 since it's nearly identical in overall height and want inexpensive tires. my friend has some Kumho Ecsta MX and say they are great, but Tirerack actually rates the Yokohama AVS ES100's better and they are about $26 cheaper (times 4 is a nice savings), anyone running these? I never go to the track and do lots of rolling start races. Thanks.

I have the MX's on the rears of my car and I think they are real nice for the money. They get great traction in warm weather, but anything under 50 isnt too hot. Id definatley buy them again, but ill probly get BFG KDW's cause i have new ones on the front and want them to match.

same sizes? These are goign on 18 x 9 Cragar SS's, I'm a little worried that they'll look too small with the bigger rim. The overall height actually goes down point 1 (.1) of an inch...leaves me plenty of room to drop it though I say. I like how the 275's fit on my 17" rims right now, width wise.

I have 18x10.5 ZO6's, and the tires are 295-35-18's.

Those will look fine, they look almost identical to my 275-45-17's i got in the front. Check out my pics in my sig.

Wow, I was reading some feedback on Tirerack's site, and alot of people complain about road noise and fast wear on the Yoko's so i think I'll spend the little extra and get the Kumhos...in the feedback for the kumhos, someone said it was a runflat although I couldn't find anything to back that up on the site, is that true someone?

No, it's not a run-flat. But it is a good tire for the money. They wear awsome too. I have MXs on the back and Ecstas on the front. Got close to 30,000 miles on the Ecstas. Screw Yokos.

actually I've since learned that, and since my car doesnt' have a tire pressure monitoring system they wouldn't do me any good. and now, I'm uncertain as to which tire to get for a 18 x 9 with +36mm back spacing. safe rout of 275/35/18, or a little bit bigger with a 285/35/18, although those tires have a VERY limited variety!

I put 285/40/17's on my 9.5" wheels, although I don't know my backspacing. I beat the snot out of the rear inner fender to fit the 315's on for autox, so I don't worry about it now

I just had 315's on my car on 10.5's so I'm not too worried about it, ecept that there aren't too many choices for 285 tires, and the one i did want, the GS D3's people say are like normal 315's!
