Default Help with drag wheels selection

I really like these wheels, but how do i make sure that they will fit my application?

http://www.jegs.com/i/Weld-Racing/92...rentProductId=

car has stock length 9" rear end, and as far as i know stock rear spacing is 7.5" right?

*those wheels have 7" BS so about .5" off will they fit?

*how about the brake will they fit stock rear brakes?

Ray

Also looking at weld drag lites and weld rts. I like the draglites look more than the rts but ive seen more positive feedbacks on the rts.

Best thing to do would be to call and ask, but I believe 7.5 is correct.

I have called and they told me the first wheels that i posted wouldn't fit, so those are out of the equation.

Just want to hear more inputs from people with drag wheels setup.

Whats up Ray? If I were you I'd look into a wheel that goes right on with no or minimal brake caliper clearancing. Weld RTS, Billet Specialties Street Lites, or Race Star Industries Drag Star wheels come to mind. Let me know which style you like best and I'll help you with the sizes you need.

Hey man!! Not much, how u been doing?

Im planning to swap my rear to 9" this sunday and i don't plan to grind my caliper or change them to strange ones when i get the drag wheels. I have a nice guy that willing to borrow me his dark star to be mocked up in my car. So its either that or draglites, i dont like the look of the rts

You still have the old phone # dude?

RaceStars are the cheapest youll find, I just ordered a set 2 weeks ago. a 10 inch wheel you want a 7.25 or 7.5 inch back spacing, I got skinnies for the front, their a 3.75 wide wheel with 1.75 back spacing i believe... the set was 769 shipped with lugs and stems from Jims Racing, their on back order right now and should be here 3rd week of April. Hope this helps

You will have to grind the crap out of your rear calipers for the draglites.

You're talking about this wheel right? If so, those require alot of grinding on the rear for the 15x10's with the 7.5 backspace

They've pretty much been listed for you.. On your car, I think the Streetlites with a blacked out center would look great. Just the center, leave the lips polished.

Ray - I'm not sure if those other billet specialties wheels will fit. They designed a specific 15x10 rear in the street lite wheel to clear the rear caliper on these cars with no grinding. If you don't wanna touch your brakes you're literally limited to the street lites, weld rts, and race stars (race stars take a bit of grinding, not near as much as a weld draglite though).

If you're really in love with the idea of drag lites, maybe give some consideration to running drag brakes in the rear, that will open up the option to run a drag lite on the rear and not grind the caliper and run 2.5" ARP studs up front with a small 5/16" or so spacer. If you have to grind the fronts it wont be near as much. May want to research this and see if anyone has done it this way to make sure before spending a bunch of money.
