Default Best street tire

Hey guys I am in the market for a good set of street tires 275/40/17 (NOT drag radials since I have a set of those for the weekends) Looking for something somewhat sticky with decent durability. Shoot me some options.

Thanks

I have been looking into Nitto NT05's for my next set, and have heard almost all good things about them. Just one option, if you have the $$$ many like the goodyear GS-D3's.

I love my Nitto NT555's so far, I dont have a lot of miles on them, but they are quiet and ride well. Ive always thought the KDW's were too loud for me.

I like my NT-05's. Tons of lateral grip. Not bad from a stop, but not as good as a drag radial. Would highly recommend for weekend/summer cars. may not be the best choice for a daily driver just due to how quickly they will probably wear in that role.

My top picks were NT05's, Mickey Thompson street comp's or BFG sport comp-2. In the end I choose the NT05's simply because they don't have all the rain siphons which makes them look good. That and lots of positive feed back from HPDEers.

I used to run Goodyear GS-D3's. They performed awsome, but never lasted. I never had a set last more than a year - 9,000 miles. Ran them for about 5 years. They have gone up in price almost $100 in the past several years.

I run NT05s. They stick very well for a street tire both lateral and from a dig. They also ride smooth and are pretty quiet. Wet weather they are pretty good in, but I haven't worn them down yet. So, I can't comment on wear or rain traction. But compared to the tires on my other car (Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08) these aren't quite as sticky but are much more livable. The Yokos are damn near DOT Legal race tires that have insane grip wet and dry. But they howl and ride really rough.

I'd consider the NT05 over the NT555 since the price is pretty similar. You end up with a lot more grip with the NT05s.
