On the other hand, not getting it right the first time means cut tires, tires sticking out too far, or being recessed too far in, and/or rubbing. Considering the cost of tires, and the cost of having the wheel rehooped maybe $400 isn't so bad. I would love to have had this tool, it seems much more accurate than that plastic one with the wire.
I was thinking if I could rent this tool out, it would be a damn sight cheaper for people, and no question about it, you'd much rather have this tool and know for sure your offset is right (you do need to have the tire your fitting on hand first). Quite a few people are adding big brake kits, and more narrow axles, so the list in FAQ is not always applicable.

I figure though, I can always add a 1/4" spacer if I don't like it. On the hand if I work that 1/4" in to the backspace, and I don't like it or it put the tire too close to the lip, I'm screwed.
