That red car looks badass.
Do it, lay down a good tape line where you want to cut it then with a steady hand and patience cut about 2/3 of the lip off.

345 > 325 right?

325 > 315?

7.5 - 3 = 4.5?

^^ Looks like they turned the wheel around lol

Tucked 315's here, should be no reason for any size tire to stick out past the fenders, Im sure I can tuck 335s with no rubbing too.

I've noticed that on higher-end cars, the tires fill up the wheel well and sit flush against the body. The lower-end cars, sport the opposite - tucked in with a huge gaps.

My goal is to mimic the higher-end cars. I don't have good pics but I would like to pull out the rear tires another 0.25" and the front about 0.5" outwards:

That looks awesome, curious what rear and shortening do you have, as well as wheel well modification? Cause I have the same wheels and want that look.

Personally I like them closer to flush.

It seems you are most concerned about style and not function. If so, it is the same stupid discussion as how 19"/20" wheels look and work great with 25/30 series tires, they just do not work. A number of the tucked photos are of what look to me to be all out race cars. Most of them are tubbed and have had frame rails modified to get that travel back. If it is a style only thing, ok, I am more into function, I think a well thought out and engineered machine is a thing of beauty. IMO

Mine has a little tilt to it with 27.2" 315 rears and it is pretty close to flush. I would not call mine tucked. I also leave the ride height at my RR track height. Then again, I only drive my drag set up too the track, it is for function, I have a staggered proper handling set up for the street. Not sure how this specifically relates to narrowed rears only. Neither my 12 bolt, or Fab 9 were narrowed, as I like my RR track tired to be rotatable. Again narrowed diffs seem to be about style, not function, unless an all out drag car.

I also run 315s on all four for autocross and track days, it looks a little NASCAR with those, but they work and do not rub. At least on the outside, the fronts rub the center of the inner fender enough to polish them a little.

Even my streets are more or less flush. My fenders are rolled.

Stock rear-end, rolled fender lips and BFH inner fender well in some areas. Adj PHB is required.

Gator and gmracer13 are spot on. I am rebuilding my car after spending all my money racing superbikes for the past couple years. This is my first post. I hope the pictures are going to show. How do you two think this looks? In the rear; i know i gotta lower the front. I had a strange twelve bolt and sold it without measuring it yrs ago. I ran 15x9 inch warriors with 28x11.5x15 et streets which are a little skinnier than 295 55 15 et street radials. Perfect fit with no rub and tucked and low like i believe we agree on. With no hammering or removal of bumpstops. I believe they were 4.5'' backspacing. This info is useless i guess because i never measured the rear. Anyway i am about to order a m9 or mwc fab9 and am taking your advise with the 3'' off each side. (I want new rims anyway). Problem im having- what to do with the suspension. I know ill have to get offset lca's but i was looking to do a coilover setup. Will that work? Any suspension guru's feel free to chime in. Front end is all tubular stuff w/ strange coilovers. i am desparatly trying to figure out the rear suspension. dont care about cornering with this car just want to plant and go. car is 590rwhp, 6 speed, Ive been outa the car game for a while now so i apologize for my ignorance. Trying to get feedback before i order rear so i can have them set it up how i want from the get go. Thanks in advance.

Heres a little better pic. They are pics of pics because i dont have rear anymore and car is on lift.

My rearend is 2.5" shortened per side, with 5.5"BS wheels. I have BMR 1" lowering springs in the rear.Sits to high in the *** end. John what is your rear shock and spring combo?
Wish you were on the KC car forums to stir pot. Gets boring around here!

Can you send me a link to those 345 drag radials? I should probably look into them.

My pregnant wife drives my all out race car (with stock motor, a/c, radio, etc) to the gym... (I sold her XLR and haven't replaced it yet)
