Why do you 4th gen guys LOVE your rear wheels sticking out? *DON'T QUOTE PICS!!*

The best solution would be some Dick Harrel wide body panels. Good God I wish somebody would have made them, but I remember searching around and only one person made a prototype but never produced them because he didn't think demand would be high enough. This is how Camaros should have looked right from the factory.

I've noticed that on higher-end cars, the tires fill up the wheel well and sit flush against the body. The lower-end cars, sport the opposite - tucked in with a huge gaps.
My goal is to mimic the higher-end cars. I don't have good pics but I would like to pull out the rear tires another 0.25" and the front about 0.5" outwards:

I think it is what you like. The great thing about cars, are the different styles we see.
You don't have to like them all and probably shouldn't like them all.
But don't bust on somebody because they did it their way!
That makes you a none cool car guy!

i agree with the OP, but i don't like it tucked in so much.

So what I've gathered from this thread is that gator's99TA likes the wheels tucked in and anything that he personally doesn't like is stupid and everyone should share his opinions.

I think the issue most of you is overlooking is the curvature of the fender. Some like to line the tire up with the narrowest part of the fender (the bottom), but this looks dumb to some because of the large overhang of the fender. Others like to line up the tire with the furthest out part of the fender, but this makes the tire seem to stick out past the rest of the car, which again looks dumb to some.
Why can't we all just get along?

So we've moved from making fun of Mustangs and Ricers to turning on each other and making fun of our fellow GM owners for making their car look like they want just because YOU don't like it?

Can you send me a link to those 345 drag radials? I should probably look into them.

This thread is actually a public service announcement full of illustrations and all on how to avoid Mexi-poke. It should probably be made into a Sticky.
