Default BFGs or GOODYEARS?

I am debating between BF Goodrich G-FORCE T/A KD or GOODYEAR EAGLE FI GS-D3. Which is better? I am leaning more towards the BFGs!

I think the BFG is truely a better tire in the dry only. Every other category I think the GS D3s would be better.

I am leaning towards the BF Goodrich's too just because of the price and treadlife....$155/apiece for 400 treadwear

I'm assuming the higher the tread rating, the longer the tire lasts? I couldn't find on the goodyear website how to understand tire ratings, other than 275x35xZR18.

what are you smokin? G-force KD's in a 275 40 r17 are like $250 a piece, and have a duro rating of 200. even the KDW is around $175 with a 300 rating

Check out tirerack - they usually have some good comparisons as well as detailed spec data.

those sound more like the BFG KDWS, I'd expect the KD to be a lot softer and more expensive.

I really don't like Goodyear in general. I thnk you end up paying for the name rather than the tire. I don't know specifically about the GS-D3s though.

How can you tell treadlife? Which # is it? Here's an example:
Pirelli P-Zero
P275/35ZR-18 95W B
UTQG: 400AA

Goodyear GS-DS
275/35ZR18 95Y VSB
UTQG: 280AA

Is that UTQG rating the treadlife? And if it is, and I'm understanding it correctly (higher # better rating) the P-Zeros will outlast the GS-DS?

Please correct and educate

the utqg # is the treadlife. the higher the number, the harder the compound, ie. the longer it should last. if i was worried about mileage, i'd get BFG gforce kdw's. thats what i have right now, and even with all the miles i've been puting on it lately, they still look new. they hook decent... not like drag radials, but they last a hell of alot longer. actualy, if i'm not mistaken, Nitto dr's have the same treadwear rating as kd's...

i don't know about the BFG but i would highly recommend the goodyear's i have them in 315 size and they hook really good even on my 400rwhp car.
i had Dunlop 8000 before and didn't like them, even when my car was stock it didn't hook at all even on a 315 size.

BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS has a treadwear rating of 400 and costs about $152 each:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=38028

The BFG G-Force KD has a treadwear rating of 200 and cost about $260 each:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=38833

The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 has a treadwear rating of 280 and costs about $202 each:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=31371

They are two very different tires.

If you are looking to compare the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 to a BFG tire, you need to be looking at the BFG G-Force KDW (treadwear rating of 300 and costs about $190 after shipping), which isn't on DTD's website, so here it is on Tire Rack's:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

The KDW and the GS-D3 are comparable tires.
