Default how dangerous is it to put 285/35/18 on a 9' rim

Just how dangerous will it be to put 285 35/18's on a 9' rim. I know 285's normally start at 9.5 range to 11'. Also, I was looking at heights also and was wondering how much taller it would be between 9" and 9.5' rim. A 285/35/18 on a 9.5 is 25.86. So i'm thinking it would be taller on a 9' rim, just don't know how much? Don't want any freak accidents. Would appreciate the help. Its going om my 02 T/A.

You'll be fine, I run a set of Goodyear GS-D3's on my SLP SS rims 17x9.5 no problems. Tires are 285/40/17. I've heard of of people running even 295's w/o a problem as far as safety goes, just that they won't wear evenly.

I copy that. Thanks for the responses. Well I guess thats gonna do it. I've been all over different forums and internet browsing reading and asking questions on this. Did height and width calculations on 1010tires.com. Maybe I'm over thinking this thing. So I'm gonna pull the trigger and get Michelin Pilot Super Sports 285/35/18's and put them on 18x9 rims on all four sides and pray to the Tire Gods that nothing rubs!

Save your prayers for something more important. A 285-35-18 tire is only a hair larger than the stock 245-50-16 and 275-40-17 tires.

I'd say it's very dangerous to put a 285 on a 9ft rim.....

" = inches ' = feet
