Default Tire advice??????

I have full bolton t/a auto. Currently running new nitto nt555 extreme zr 275/40-17. I do not want a DR as I drive the car a lot of miles a year. car doesn't see the track much. I'm looking for a tire with better traction then my current so any suggestions would be appreciated . Even tire pressure suggestions for current tires would help. Car spins a lot from take off on the street and at the track. Have stock stall /3:23 gear. 60ft time was 2.17. Thx

The nt555r is something you should consider, they are a radial but you will get plenty of miles out of them

Ok I'll check them out thx. Didn't pin point the exact rattle cause? I put back on my t.s. Catted y ( had t.s. Stainless ory) and the noise is 95% gone. I'm assuming the noise was always there just didn't notice it until I went to the ory. I only barley notice it cause I know it was there. So I'm assuming it's normal engine noise? Stainless ory felt thinner walled then Catted version . Any other feedback on all season tire would be great!!!

I recently bought some BFG G-force Sport Comp 2 summer tires, from a rolling punch in first they hook pretty good with a healthy scratch in 2nd. They really improved the handling over the Conti all seasons I had before to the point I'm going to run Autocross on Aug 15. That will be a new experience.
We're probably at similar power levels, the time in my sig was on some M/T ET Street bias plies. I quit drag racing on street tires, IMO it's a waste of time....no traction.

My old street tires were Conti Extreme Contact All Seasons 275/40-17. Best 60' with those was 2.003. Since my car's a M6 I bought 26-10.5-16 ET Street bias plies they're not drag radials, best 60' so far is 1.81. My ET dropped .5-.6 just changing to the bias plies. The difference in the launch between the 2.003 and the 1.81 was huge. From now on I won't drag race on street tires but also IMO the ET Street bias plies are not robust enough for street use. I think being a A4 you have more tire options.

I agree, any kind of street tire is a waste of time.
Is this your daily driver? If not and you don't have to drive in the rain also check out the nt05r. You can also get some milage out of those. I have had street tires, the 555r, nt05r and now the Mt et streets. I don't daily my car so I'm not worried about rain or how long they last but they do hook hard as hell at the track and street.
The nt05r is a very good all around radial, not great in the rain but handle good, hook good and are capable of getting some miles out of them. I would say you could get 10-15,000 mi. out of them.
I know you said you would like to avoid a radial but it's something you should consider. Especial if you ever plan on a converter.

All great info guys. Thx a lot!! What kinda of miles can you get out of the 555r? It's not my daily driver but I put around 3k or more a season. I take some long trips and have been caught in the rain before with the plain 555 and thought they sucked lol. im going to the track with some friends soon(buddy just bought ss with boltons m6 that wants to race) . I said I'd never go back unless I had dr's due to the traction issue I had the first time (12.9 60ft 2.1) I added a set of C.E. Drag shocks since then. Think those will do anything for me?

I put 7,000 mi on mine with maybe ten track passes and they had plenty left on them, if it's not a daily go with the nt05r, I got 10,000 mi. out of mine with maybe 50 passes and very long burnouts. I am very hard on tires and liked the nt05r a lot. Didn't really care for the 555r but they are much better than a street tire

Ok thx again. I'll check into them. They don't hook like a slick do they? Don't want to break anything. What burnout process?

With a auto and stock stall in general your not going to break anything. I pull 1.7 60's consistently and am not worried about breaking anything.
With the nittos do a long smokey burnout, get them smoking and let them smoke for about 5 second then roll out of it, run the tire pressure around 18 psi

What about the nt05(non R) vs my 555? Big diff at the track? I added drag shocks since then. They gonna help at all? Thx
