Probably similar construction and the same d2 compound.

I also have the hoosier dr2 that thunderstruck posted strictly for track use and they are awesome. I was able to get a 1.64 60 ft. with a mild burnout on a 35 degree day with 25psi. I have the toyo tq for my street tires and they are IMO a great drag radial. I've had them maybe 6k miles and they barely look worn. I was able to get a 1.72 60ft out of them but had to air them down quite a bit.

Is the DR2 tire a new design for the radials with those square holes? The ones I've seen have two lines going around the entire tire.

From what I have heard is Hoosier changed the compound to beat the ET pro. Other than that the construction of the tire and side wall stiffness is the same.

Is there a drag radial around 27" in height? I'm leaning towards the 295'55'15 (28") but if there is a better option for 525rwhp and 3.73 gearing i'm open to options.

Can you do any highway driving on those Hoosier's? I have to do 70 miles one way on the interstate to my nearest dragstrip.

Edit: I see Hoosier does not recommend that you do any highway driving on their drag radials but I know some do.

Update, I'm running MT ET Street S/S - 295/55/15 and love them. Daily drove them last 3 weeks (500 miles) and with a good burnout they'll dead hook at 30mph on the street on spray for me (525rwhp+).

I drive my Hoosier DR's everywhere. It's about a 75 miles trip (one-way) to the track for me also. Did a 11.2 on motor and 10.3 on spray. Drove the car back home with no problems at all on the highway. Of course like any other DR, I would be careful on wet surface.

That's what I want to hear. I'm definitely going to get me a set of 325×50×15 Hoosier DR's or the MT R's. They need to be good on the highway thou. I'm not a fan of changing wheels at the track.

I had the Hoosier 325's and drove them all the time last year as it was the only tire/set of wheels I had. I made 4-5 trips to the track and the track I run at is 1 1/2 one way drive. Also made an 8 hr round trip to cruising the coast with them as well. I never had an issue in the one rain fall I ran into on the highway going 65. But that's not to say still not to be careful with any dr in the rain.
