Default Best drag radial option here?

New strange S60 rearend on the way, narrowed 3" per side, going with a 15" weld RTS.

Street car making 440 N/A, 550 on spray.

Best option to go with 275/60/15 or 295/55/15?

What tires get at least DECENT mileage out of them (not interested in tires that get 2000 miles).

Guys with experience please post your thoughts!

ET Street Radial, though I would choose not to drive in the rain with them.

I would go with the 295's. I run the MT's, and at best get 3k miles out of them. They're to the wear bars in 2k I just run mine til they're absolutely bald.

Anybody have luck with the Hoosier DR's? I like how they are considerably lighter then the M/T's

I'm not 100 percent sure about that. Just speaking in general I always seen a Hoosier stick better than a Mickey Thompson tire.

hoosier qtp is a bias ply, but is definitely more beneficial on a stick car. I street drove mine but you will not get a lot of milage out of them.

hoosier dr 295/55/15 best drag radial imo. i never had luck with the m/t's always run hoosiers now never looked back but they do wear quick

I have some Hoosier QTP's and they hook great but they are just slicks with a couple of grooves down the middle. Not for the street.

Look at the m&h dr. They are often overlooked. They are decent in the rain too.

This is me on a 275/50/15 m&h dr.....same tire i went 10.9 on.

while not the best hooking tire, the Nitto 555r's are probably the best DR in wet conditions

The Hoosier Radial is the best tire I've ever used. Blows the ET Street out of the water for all out traction.

They are soft sidewall and will wear out quick though. But for all out traction they can't be beat.

I got caught in a ******* downpour with Nitto 555Rs on and I almost died. This was highway driving and there was a ton of standing water with no exit to get off in sight. Never again!

That's good to hear. My car is a weekend warrior, so longevity isn't too much of a concern. I think I'm going to give the Hoosiers a try next time. Being almost 10lbs lighter per tire is huge IMO.

my suspension is set up more for turning than hooking and I used to struggle to get the car to hook on ET Streets but it would do a 1.68-1.72 when it did

now with more power from going LS2 I was able to get consistent 1.62-1.64 at the track all day with a pretty mild burnout

Hoosier hooks one ice and is better than the MT pro on marginal prep.
