Question Need help with Torq Thrust back spacing

I want to do a 17 x 8 up front and s 17 x 9.5 rear. The rears should be 7.06 back space correct?

The fronts give me an option of 4.07 and 4.81 for a 17 x 8. Wich ones should i get?

As I recall, the OE 16x8s had a backspace of approximately 6", so I would think that a wheel with less than 5" could possibly have the tires colliding with the fenders. At one time, I had 9.5" rims, all the way around, on my '96 Z/28, and they had a 6.75" backspace.

The 17x8 gives me a choice of 4" or 4.75 back space. I would say 4.75 right?

I would try to get something over a 5" backspace for the front. And the 9.5", either the 6.5" if you go with 5" backspace on front , or 7" if you go with a bigger backspace up front. Cause the LAST thing you want is for the front wheels to have a deeper dish & stick out further than the rears.....gotta say though, your doing an odd size with 8" fronts 9.5" rears. Most on here do 9.5" all around, or 9.5" fronts and 11" rears. If you go that 9.5/11" route, do 7" backspace fronts, 7.75 backspace rears

I saw someone on here that did a 17 x 7 in the front and a 17 x 11 rear. Looked pretty bad ***. I could also do a 17 x 7 front with a 225-50-17. and 17 x 9.5 rear. I just don't know what backspace I would need for a 17 x 7 front.

I guess a better question would be this....Are you looking to set up the car for better cornering, or more of a drag race deal? That would dictate what you should be looking at, in terms of wheel widths and tire sizes.

I want to do 17 x 8 up front with a 245-45-17 tire because of tracking issues.

If doing a 9.5" rears with what I assume is the 7" backspace, then you need 5.5" on an 8" wheel or 4.5 on a 7.
