How can you tell? What do you look for?

Also, it's possible that this is a generic pic and that the actual ones are slightly different.

If it's not in the description on Ebay, then they won't be. All of the hub-centric ones I've seen have the protruding center piece for your wheel to center itself on.

I looked through a few different brands of adapters that I have pics of and none have a raised center portion to center the rim. Where can you get the ones that are hubcentric? I'd like to see a pic of one.

PS, none of the people that have used the non-hub centric spacers have ever mentioned any problems. I wonder if it is necessary or not.

It's not a necessity, they're just a better adapter. I've used both and know people that have used both as well, no problems out of either. I got one set of mine from Vette Brakes, good quality, but on the expensive side. I checked their site and couldn't find any pics of the hub-centric adapters. Just do a google or whatever search and you can find pics of a hub-centric adapter, or I can send you one tonight if you want after I get home.

click this link and it will show you the h&r wheel adapter that is hubcentric.you will notice how the middle bumps out for the wheel to rest on it just like your hubs on the spindles do.
