I have the 315/35/17 NT05R. It's the same sidewall height as the 275/40/17 so it's going to perform very similar except for being a little wider. With that said, I like them for what they are. Compound and sidewall are the two biggest factors when it comes to hooking. What is your setup, trans, etc?

From what ive read and searched i wouldn't think 315 35 17 would mount on my stock ws6 wheel lol cause i thought for not much more i could go wider the 275 should be fine i would think

When you air them down and get a good burnout they should hook. Deoends on what your throwing at them. Otherwise at 32psi on the streets, first and most of 2nd will be useless. MT S/S are a bit better on the track but same story on the streets. The barely Dot legal MT ET streets are even better but i would be cautious in the wet.

Yeah the 315 NT05R would not be a good choice on a 9 inch wheel. The 275 is the right choice for sure

315's will mount, wear and perform perfectly on your 9" wide rim. I did that for 14 years with a few different types of 315 size brand tires. They always worked perfectly and I got better traction by going to 315 over the factory 275's.

Try it....you'll like it...and they look much better than 275's do in the rear.
