I get cars coming in the shop with widened wheels every now and then. Nothing to worry about as long as it’s done correctly. With the factory 17x9 rims I’d be willing to bet you can only widen them about an 1” due to their offset/backspacing. I have 18x11 on my car currently, they have about a 1” lip and absolutely no room to spare on the backside (had to ditch the bump stops). Since the factory wheels spokes are pretty well flush with the front lip an extra inch of backspacing might be all you can fit and may not clear the bumpstop. I don’t have my old rims handy to check clearance but that’s my best guess.

Ya i was wondering about that as far as hitting anything. I have longer wheel studs so i didnt no if i could kick them out 3/4” or so. All i safely need is 10-1/2” to fit a 315

They told me $225 wich ouch, but i really like the ws6 rims. Getting 2 rims widened is still cheaper than buying 4 new rims plus factory look

Only company people should be sending their rims to for widening is http://www.etmags.com

They use a real donor hub, welded on both sides properly.....high speed balancing and they pass side load testing with a donor barrel method.

They do not use the hilarious "hoop" method and cut your barrel and weld the hoop in place. That weakens the rim and it does NOT pass factory side load tests.

See my widened rims here: Post #11. Properly done with a donor barrel. $250.00 per rim.

----and YES.....lots of people have the hoop method and have not died....blah, blah, blah..........many have also come apart while driving.
