Default Drag radial or slick?

i have a 2000 camaro h/c 6.0 auto 3200 stall. I drive it daily but want a tire I can switch out when its time to race someone on the street in Mexico. My 2 choices are a 275 40 17 Mickey Thompson et ss or a 26x15 Mickey Thompson slick. Which will hook better on the street?

et ss aint gonna get it done. Better come better then that. Maybe a ET Pro would be a nice compromise.

Those are gnarly tires. I have been using them for a while but in a 275/50r15. Insanely better than the old MT ET street radials. The Hoosier 275/50 hooks better than the MT 325/50 on my car.

Skip the radial and go straight to a slick if your looking for traction on the street. I've read and heard the Hoosier slicks are a little better than the MT's on the street. I have had good success with the MT 3055s though. Which ever brand you decide, get a stiff wall slick

Slicks drive sloppy on the street and wont last for ****. I say stick with the best radial you can get your hands on.

MT Radial pro or if your wanting a "street legal' tire go with a ET street R its more of a in between a pro and the et ss.

That's why i suggested a stiff wall slick, I haven't has any issues with mine. He said he wants a tire to swap to when it's time to race, so I doubt he cares to much about milage. For street racing, a slick beats a radial every time

Agree. Radial needs much better prep than a slick.

100% agree, but ive heard guys say they get 300 miles on the street with slicks. Ouch thats expensive.
