Default 285/35/18 plus more questions!!

I'm getting the Privat Profil 18X9.5 for my WS6
I was wondering if I should go:

1.)285/35/18 all 4 corners
2.)275/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear
3.)275/35/18 all 4 corners

What would be the best setup..
FWIW I run 26X10X15 in slicks/26in skinnies when I race the car so I wanna stay close to that hieght when coparing both sets of wheels.

Last question,Has anyone heard of the tube K-members/A-Arms and Hal coil overs hitting the bigger rims/tires.I thought I read that they didnt clear on some applications?

Todd or Kevin or anyone else please help.

I have Intro 18x10s w/ 285/35s on all 4 corners. No issues. The fronts rub the wheelwell inserts slightly on full lock, no big deal.

My honest opinion: is same size wheel, use same size tire on all four corners . . . 275/35Zr18 get you OEM overall diameter, so your speedo will remain accurate.

What Xsta said, that's why we used 275's all around, plus you can rotate them front to back and get better wear out of them.

never mind all the tread sizes are 35, I would go with option 2 if i had it to do over again, the wider tires in the back look better

IMHO: IF you are not running 18x10.5's on the rear so that you can fit 325/30/18's, then I'd modify "option 2.)" and run: 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear.

We all want the tougher, bigger rear tire! You can always "cross-rotate" the fronts and rears to increase mileage on the tires.

(Cross-rotate is when you remove the tire from the rim, flip it, balance it, and then install it on the other side of the car. That way the tire is still going the proper direction, but now on the other side of the car.)

U cant run a 295 on a 9.5in rim so thats out.
I live in Philly and the roads are BAAAAADDDDDDDD,potholes galore....
I'm gonna run 17X9.5's instead just to play it safe.

Can I get away with 285/40/17's at all 4 corners.

Hey Joel... I am waiting for my rims to be delivered, but they are 18x9 HP Lightnings. I have the Nitto 555s in 275/35/18s going on all four corner to be able to rotate when neccesary.

I hope to be at the Hooters in Bensalem on July 28th if you wanna see how they look (18s on all fours) in person. Let me know.... I'll buy you a coke and fries and shoot the **** about old times.

Yes, but it matters whether they are 275 or 285 because the 35 means 35% of the width, in this case 275 or 285. It's called the aspect ratio.

This does not work properly with some directional tires. They are meant for the left or right side of the car.

You can get away with it, but it will not retain factory height.

Factory height is 25.7".

275mm x 40% = 110mm x ~.04 inches = 4.4" x 2 = 8.8" (tire) + 17" (rim) = ~25.7 inches

285mm x 40% = 114mm x ~.04 inches = 4.56" x 2 = 9.12" (tire) + 17" (rim) = ~26.1 inches

factory height doesnt matter with programming

Anyone have pics of the 285's all around versus the 275s? Noticeable difference?

I'm running 18x9.5's with Nitto 555 285/35 all around. Looks killer! And I can rotate them still. Nitto has the 285 listed at 25.93 in height. Very close to stock.

I ordered A Set of Privat Profil 18X9.5 Saturday for my T/A. DTD Cut me a good Deal on the Wheels So I went ahead and ordered the Tires from there too. I wanted the GoodYear GS-D3 but, DTD doesn't carry it in the 285 Size. I ended up with the Falken GR Beta FK-451 in a 275/35/18-285/35/18 Combo.

anyway, dropped a tad over $1800.00 w/TT&L and RoadHazard. Not too bad I guess (as long as tires don't suck)

I went 285/35/18 on all four corners and love it. The handing is insane. Its lowered 1" and there is no rubbing at all. The wheel offset is 54mm. I can also rotate the tires which is nice. You can't with 285/275 tires.
