Rims are old and leaky
Has anyone run into this ... and if so, what are the options? Sand the hell out of it and goop the tar?
The backspacing is 4.07 while the offset is -11. They're 16x8s. Would there be any fitment issues with that?
The wheels I'm looking to get have an offset of -11 and they're 16x8s. They have 4" of back space. So the new rims will move outward 2.5"? There's 60mm difference in the offsets between the old and new rims.

Side note: when I dropped the wheel off, a 4th gen z28 pulled in. Later when I picked up the tire, the tech told me that the owner of the z28 had the same leaky rim issue. He also had just bought that car for 5k and with only 85,000 miles.
My 02 Z28 with the 16x8 factory chrome rims has the same leak issue on two rims. The chrome has degraded and doesn't provide a good seal anymore. Rims have 250,000 miles on them and had to be sanded smooth where the chrom started to flake off. Tire shop also used bead sealer. So far no noticeable leakage after six months. Before in two weeks or so one tire would go almost flat from the bad seal.
These are perfect for the job.
