Default Goodyear Eagle F1 GS date code

Hey team I'm sure someone on here just knows this off the top of their head....what is the date of these tires on a car I purchased? The guy I purchased car from on ebay said he just put new tires on it this Spring.....but I dont really believe any of that. Pretty sure they are from 2001....any help is appreciated.

Your suspicions are correct, those tires were manufactured during the 41st week of 2001. So they are ~20 years old no matter when he installed them. Looks like they are on a 35th anniversary wheel, so they are likely original to the car and were installed by the factory.

If he actually claimed in the Ebay ad to have installed new tires in spring of '21, it would certainly be fair to document this falsehood in any feedback that you leave for the seller.

Thanks for the reply...unfortunately it wasn't in the ebay ad...just in communication (text) exchanged between us....sad thing is the world is full of people like that. He sold it under Gasoline Alley Motors in Chatsworth, Ca.....I left feedback on ebay, google and Yelp. Of course he replied on ebay and google and lied....texts and pictures are worth a thousand words....sad that he would lie, but in this world what do you expect

Oh its not feel good, its just reality.. Kinda like the olden days with people trading horses..

I've worked around tracks since the 90's, had a friend with a shop that I traded seat time for crew chief time on his cars..
The randomness of which groups, teams etc will "forget" to close their tab, or just be a pain about anything they need..
Shops that take in a rig and have it for 6 months to do a cage install that takes 5 days tops...
Motor builders that promise and don't deliver... or deliver a year late..

We were servicing Methanol sales at a big event, Got a PO from a BIG IE world renowned marque dfactory race team.
We submitted the PO for 14000 dollars worth of fuel for the week to them (Market rate.. ) They kept promising the check was in the mail.
We finally got paid when they came back 2 years later,, basically we refused their PO and had prearranged with all 3 suppliers in town to refuse to deliver to them.
They ended up paying us with about 15 credit cards from their team members.. Then we made them get us a bank check for the event.
Painful but they had a certified check with them every year after that..
