Default 17x11s on a 89 Iroq Z28?

Hi fellas i am going to order my Black Zr1s from ebay today and my friend was asking if the 17x11 ZR1s fit his car. i didn't know so thats why im asking u guys. Also for my car. the 17x11s wont have any problems with rubbing or fitting correctly right? I am going 275/40/17 front 285/40/17 Rear. Here r the rims if u guys need more info http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...953277589&rd=1

Does a 285 fit on an 11" rim? I would think that would be cutting it way too close and you might curb your wheels because there will practically be NO overlap. A 305 or 315 would probably be a better choice for the rears. As for fitting on a 3rd gen, I don't think so, but I am not an expert.

They will fit, but you will need spacers. Im selling a set of 2.5" spacers for a third gen to adapt the zr1 wheels, as i planned this swap myself. There have been many done on thirdgen.org, do a search there. I know one of them i saw had to roll the fender lip and "massage" the inner fender wells. But it looks amazing. Heres a pic:

Can i fit 285s on a 11" inch rim? or will i have to go with something bigger? The Thing is i am also going to lower my Z28 1.8" rear and 1.7 "front. i dont want to have alot of problems fitting the rims and tires on my car

In response to the tire ?.....I have 17x11 w/ 315-35-17 and the sidewall is practically flush with the lip of the rim...I would think that 285 on an 11" wheel would look like a mid 90's lowrider with the tire stretched across the wheel IMO....I wouldn't go with anything less than a 315 but that's just me.

Yes, a 285 will fit on an 11" rim. That is within spec. If you are lowering you car, I would not go with something so wide- IMO.
