Default 17 inch 16.8 Pound SSR Wheels!!

I have been looking for new wheels for my camaro and think I may have found the lightest wheels for the money? They are on TireRack and are called SSR wheels. They are 17 x 9.5 , weigh 16.8 pounds a piece and have a 55mm offset. They can be found on Tirerack by doing a vehicle wheel search for a corvette.

There are two different lightweight styles to choose from. I like them both, but think the 5 spoke GT2-H ($439 each) would look better? What do you guys think about the 6 spoke Comp H ($453 each) on a camaro?

I have never heard of our seen anything about these wheels on this site? Unless anyone knows other wise, these look like the lighest and cheapest 17 inch wheels I have seen. What do you guys think?

I was gonna get the 18" 6-spokes but decided not to spend all that money. From what I know they are a pretty reputable manufacturer.

SSR = top notch.

I'm loving those GT2's, but yes GT3's are hot sex.

those are the wheels that I've been wanting to pick up for a while now. I'd want the graphite colored ones for my car though. If I ever get the money those are the rims I'll be picking up simply because they are silly light weight.

edit.. I'd want to get them in the graphite color though with the silver lip. I like that look on my pewter car.

Yeah I like the darker color better as well. But from what Ive seen they are only offered in the 18 inch size with that darker color. I wanted to get the 17 inch so I guess Ill be getting silver. Do you guys think the six spoke design is a lil ricey for a camaro? Im afraid they look too import-ish. (I know I know Ive already got a body kit but Im talkin rims here!)

Hey wisconsin! I remember there, haha. (origiinally from)

Well I have someone waiting on my current wheels and tires and I need something to get here by friday since thats when my tires are coming so I guess Il be getting the SSR Comp H 6 spoke wheels. The GT2s are on backorder. Im gonna try and get the darker ones rather than the silvers but im not sure if theyre offered in 17s. I think the increase in performance will be worth the money.

Any other opinions before I jump to it?

Try something a little different, I'd go with the 6 spokes myself.

Those GT2s are nice. I almost got some GT1s. SSR makes VERY good wheels. I did hear a rumor that they were going out of business, but Tire Rack didn't say anything about it.

I called tire rack and they said that the five spokes are not even available yet. They said the GT2's weigh about 18 pounds, so Ill be getting the six spokes that weigh less. I've gotta go with the silver version with the polished lip because the darker grey center is only available in the 18 inch size.

I beleive tire rack is the only co. that sells these wheels for our car's pattern and offset. Any one have any ideas on how to get a better price from them on wheels that cost $440 a piece? Maybe a sponsor discount or a special promotional code?

Just my opinion, but 6 spokes look like they belong on imports.

I agree,thats my conflict! but theyre so lightweight! The GT2s weigh 18 pounds. I dont think I want to spend more for a wheel that is 1.2 pounds more a piece. Im trying to get the lighest weight wheel possible for the money and this is the only one Ive found.
