Well I have a set of stock crome TA five spoke front skinny's that i did my self ,The only thing that i did was chucked them up in my lathe and cut the amount the i needed and trimed off the crome were need welded and made a jig to center them up and welded them up insided and out turned out grate took them to a tire shop and had the checked for balance and they were only out between .25 to .50 oz. Just now need to know what size bike tires to put on and what ply to take the weight.

This is stupid, why the hell would you want a 17 inch skinny? The reason there is tracion on rear tires is not only controled by width, but from sidewall flex. When the sidewall flexes, it generates a larger contact patch, something larger than you would ever see with 17 inch wheel. Now having 15 inch wheels in the back, you put 15 inch wheels in the front too. The most common sizes for drag tires are going to be in the 15 tire size, and the serious tire sizes are in the 16 inch rim size. (Top Fuel/Funny Car sizes)

Weld NEEDS to make a 15 that will fit our cars, not worry about a 17 inch drag wheel for the front that would be pointless in real racing!

I believe there are ZERO ET Drag sizes on a 17 inch rim, and there is 1 size in ET street......

Hi Scott,

It is true that we are developing a 17x4.5 wheel. It will be a 17” version of the Aluma Star 1-pc forged 15x3.5. The primary application will be for the Ford Cobra. If the wheel shows a strong demand, an application for the F-body will follow quickly. We are currently in the tire/wheel testing stage and expect this wheel to be available to the public in July.

Brought this post from the dead. FWIW, I'd probably stay away from any motorcycle tire as it more then likely will not be load rated or possibly speed rated for the car.

If your looking for a skinny tire, M&H tires has created new ones...how do I know, well our Bogart wheels were built for the tires. Here's a picture of the tires on one of the Bogart prototype wheels. John was supposed to come out with a radial version as well...not sure if it was finished or not. We are building these wheels for Corvettes right now...can I build it for your car? Sure I can...is it going to be a 200.00 wheel...no. If you want more assistance, please call me and I'd be happy to work-out what I'd need to do for your setup.

here's the link.
