What offset are they? Any suspension work done? Any banging-in of the inner fender or anything like that?

Have any pictures of it from the rear?

50mm, the suspension is bone stock. I had to bang a little bit, but its nothing hard or serious. I'll try and get some pics of the rear for you guys.

Thanks man. Sorry for all the questions, but I have the exact same setup (17x11, 50 offset, Sumitomo HTR Z 315/35/17)...Just waiting for those Sumitomo's to get here I know some guys are having to actually cut some stuff off, did you have to do any of that? Or did you only bang on the fender a little?

No worries man, its a forum your here to ask questions. I was there too, I pmed a bunch of people about my sumi's. I didn't need to cut my bumpstops, I didn't touch them at all. I also didn't roll my fender lips. As long as you jack the car up by the "pumkin" you can fit them with no problems. Then if it rubs just BFH it and you will be ready to go. But if your car is lowered you MAY have rubbing issues a little worse than stock.

Trans Am's are just a little bit different than Camaro's. It's not much, but obviously it was enough to where you had to play around some.

i have a 97 ss, and before i got it, my buddy sold the zr1s 9.5/11s to a friend of mine with a 01 z, and they rub, but they didn't on mine. so i don't know what the deal was, he also had to make some cuts with a grinder to get them to fit. now just out of curiosity, i have read the sticky about what wheels and offset to use, and the wheels i have on the car now are the wrong offset, but which is the best all around offset to fit in there just for a say 9" wheel or so, without rubbing. right now i've got a 245 out back, and still rubs when i hit a bump, just no where as bad as the 275s did. sorry for the long post, just don't know much about this wheels size stuff, thanks
mike

I'm looking to buy a set of 315's for the wheels I'm about to have widened. I recently bought new Nitto 555's all the way around. (275/35 front - 285/35 rear) I'm not sure if I want to run a Nitto DR or not. I hate mismatching tires, but I think I can live with it as long as I can find a tire with a smooth side wall. I'm open for recommendations.

Thanks,

Ron.

BTW, would the 285's work well on the front with my new combo? I'm trying to decide which tires to sell.

Back from the dead. At least someone searched instead of posting a new 315 tire thread.
