Default Red Rims

I don't plan on doing this, but was just curious what my stock wheels would look like if they were Red, so I edited a pic of my car to see. Just thought some of you might have been curious about the same thing at one point or another...or would just like to see the pic.

Yeah, like I said, I don't plan on doing it...I just had some time on my hands and was curious The more I look at it, the more I kind of like it though, but not nearly enough to do it and ruin my wheels. I'll stick with the sparkling polished aluminum . If I had a spare set of rims/tires, I might have been more interested in doing it though.

Wonder if it would look better if the lip was still chrome...

A polished lip, silver grills in the hood and fenders, silver overlays on the doors and nice cleaned up silver calipers would look pretty good.

Here's kind of what it would look like with the lips polished.

Afs make a red chrome wheel for the Mustang Cobra. Didn't see anything listed for the FBody. I've seen the red on red on some Ferraris too, but they tend to use the darker red, which also makes a difference. The design of the wheel has a lot to do with whether it works or not too in my opinion. I like a thin spoke red wheel on a black car.

Wow. I think it looks good. Something different. Make more of the lip chrome or silver. Then it would be badd azz.

If anyone ever ends up doing this, I'll be interested in seeing pics. Or if anyone has pics of other types of red rims on TA's, I'd like to see them too.

Eh, I don't think it looks too bad with the polished lip. Not on the nbm car though...

Yeah, same here. I kind of like it...just not enough to lose my polished wheels. The red would probably look best on a different style rim though. Maybe something like an Enkei Win Wheel...or one of those Lenso F-body wheels. If I ever get some different wheels, maybe I'll give it a try. Here's a link to the Lenso image.

I would like it so much more if only the spokes were red. I've contemplated doing that to my car too.

I actually did an experiment about 6 years ago on a 97 V6 Camaro I had. I got a set of aluminum brake dust guards and painted them the same color as the car's body. It was a neat setup because it made the car have a little bit of a cleaner appearance, and it offered a nice immediately noticeable contrast to the chrome wheels. If you're up to doing another photoshop session, try doing it with the color showing up IN BETWEEN the spokes of the wheels, then see what you think.

You can usually find brake dust guards on Ebay pretty cheap. Just an idea.
