Tire options for the Z
I know I know, there's a million of these threads, but each one is different cuz everyone has a different set-up...so here's mine...
My Z28 has 275/40/17 Firestones all around right now on 17''x9.5'' Roh ZS Wheels.
The tires are starting to look bald so I'm gonna buy new ones, the only thing is that I wanted to move up to a 285/40/17 tire. I know they will fit on the rim, but will there be any rubbing? My car has been lowered BTW...
I was thinking of doint 275's up front and 285's in the back, but i kinda wanted to rotate the tires every once in a while, since i dont race too much...so any ideas/suggestions/slurs/curse words?
help is appreciated

I've got GoodYear Eagle F1's 285/40 ZR17 on my 17 x 9.5 AR CL200S wheels (for over a year now). I love 'em. Just installed DMS springs last month. Haven't noticed any rubbing issues… yet. However, I'm still on the fence as to whether or not the DMS made my front too low.

if you are thinking about the goodyears F1GSD3 Which is one of the best tires out there and go for $200-250 each. Save yourself some money and go with the Kelly tire[ goodyear owns Kelly] Evo-z tire.
I just got a set and love then and half the price.
just go to E-bay and do a search.
good luck

Just a warning for the little more tread you get from a 275 to 285 you will pay pretty hefty for it. I was going to go with 285 all the way around as well but then i found that it was going to be an about $120-$180 over the price of a set of 275's. If money is't an issue by all means but i was on a budget(actually went over the budget) and decided the little differance was't worth it.
