Default Which is wider 315 GSD3 or BFG KD

Does anyone know the actual section width of a 315 BFG KD? I've been told the GSD3 is 13.1 which is way wider than it is listed on Tire Rack, so I assume the KD measurement they have is wrong also.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the GS-D3 is one of the widest 315's out there, if not THE widest. I'm fairly certain its wider than the BFG.

I'm 99.99% shure that the D3's are wider. The 315's look like steam rollers

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear.

I was leaning toward BFG KDs, but if they are wider than GSD3s(which someone else measured at 13.1 section width) I could never stuff them in.

99% sure I will go with the KDs. I'll measure them once I have them mounted and post the results.

Oh I just now noticed you have a vert. There going to be a pain to get in there either way. It can me done just have a big sledge ready.

Like where?? Don't leave me hanging!

Check out these pics of a skinny Nitto 315(12.1 section width) on my car.

With that tire, I've got about 3/4" clearance on the control arm. I suppose I could cut out that lip on the control arm and box the whole arm, or switch to tubular arms which I think would give me more space.

Also, there's 1" to that bulged out area of the wheel well that is unique to 'verts and is very thick. It appears to be part of the frame. No sledge is gonna move that. I suppose if you heated it cherry red with a torch and then beat on it you could move it a 1/4", maybe, but that's getting a little too destructive.

Fortunately it looks to be fairly low in the wheel well and from what I've read here, the problems seem to be up higher in the wheel well where my car looks to be more conventional.

I've also heard that an adjustable pan hard bar will keep the rearend from moving from side to side on turns better than the stocker.

Any thoughts?

Yeah I'd say an adjustable panhard rod is going to be a must especially if your lowered. I don't really know exactly what all you will have to do. I just always heard that 315's and verts don't work without modifications
